Brussels, 24 June 2016. As decided by its members during the 2016 Annual Meeting in Verona on 16 June, the Eurovent association is going to strengthen its activities in the residential ventilation area. As a first measure, a Product Group dedicated to ‘Residential Air Handling Units’ (PG-RAHU) is going to be launched, building upon Eurovent’s long-term experiences and large manufacturing base in this product field. A highly experienced project manager has been engaged to take on this activity.
Against the background of an increasing amount of legislation on residential ventilation (e.g. the EU ‘Ventilation Unit’ legislation), conflicting national requirements (e.g. through national EPBD interpretations), and a need for advanced and truly European approach on this subject, Eurovent members from 20+ countries have jointly decided to strengthen activities related to residential ventilation. The new Product Group ‘Residential Air Handling Units’ sees its first meeting during the upcoming Eurovent Summit in Krakow in September.
‘For decades, Eurovent has been globally known for its work related to air handling units. It has pro-actively shaped standards and legislation in this field and today counts more than 120 AHU manufacturers from Europe and the Middle East as its members’, states Alex Rasmussen, President of Eurovent. ‘We want to build upon this fundament and experience, and bring residential ventilation forward in accordance with our new key principles. We do so in close cooperation with our partner association REHVA.’
For the management of the Product Group ‘Residential Air Handling Units’, Mr Igor Sikonczyk has been engaged as a Project Manager. He will follow the decisions taken by participating manufacturers. Sikonczyk looks back at more than 10 years of residential ventilation experience as building consultant as well as product and R&D manager at leading European manufacturers. Interested members and potentials can contact the Eurovent Secretariat for further information. The registration for the first PG-RAHU meeting is now open at www.eurovent-summit.eu.
