Verona, 22 June 2016. During a dedicated ceremony at the Eurovent Annual Meeting in Verona on 16 June, Eurovent President Alex Rasmussen has congratulated AFEC on its 30-year membership anniversary on behalf of the entire Eurovent network. Rasmussen thanked Spain’s air conditioning and ventilation manufacturers association for their long-term support in bringing the European industry closer together. The dinner gathered Eurovent members from more than 20 countries.

AFEC, known in Spain as ‘Asociación de Fabricantes de Equipos de Climatización’ (Association for Manufacturers of Air Conditioning and Ventilation Equipment), was founded in 1977 and has gained a well-respected position within the Spanish air conditioning and ventilation industry. It is the first point of contact for political decision-makers in Madrid and Spanish regions, and a highly valued partner for Eurovent members. Next to representing manufacturers on a political level, the association actively supports the Spanish industry through, for instance, conferences, studies, and the biennial Climatización exhibition in Madrid.

Ms Pilar Budí, Director General of AFEC, thanked Eurovent ‘for their support and kind cooperation with AFEC during the past 30 years, especially the Eurovent Team, Board, former Presidents and the current President’. She continued that ‘being a Eurovent member association has always provided a high added value to our members. This not only relates to the many services Eurovent provides in terms of, for example, standardisation and advocacy, but also has to be seen from a much wider perspective with Eurovent bringing a large region with hundreds of millions of people, and different cultures and business approaches, closer together. In a common market, it is important to speak with one voice, share views across borders, and ensure an overall level-playing field.’

The Madrid-based association is one of Eurovent’s 17 national member associations. Next to these associations, Eurovent counts more than 1.000 affiliated manufacturers, 26 Corresponding Members and 7 Associate Members – uniting industry representatives from over 40 countries. Many of these members are going to gather at the 2016 Eurovent Summit, which takes place in Krakow from 27 to 30 September 2016. Ensure your place during this key event and register now.
